Kissing an ashtray

*************

Kissing an ashtray

“Smoke and drink to curse your child for life.”

A worldly wise man once said to me, “I don’t kiss women who smoke. I don’t like kissing ashtrays.” It was a hard hitting comment, and I can safely say, it applies the other way too. But more than the impact of this simple statement, “I don’t like kissing ashtrays,” smoking, and might I also include drinking alcohol, are both harmful not just for the person using these personal enemies against themselves, but also for their children and grand children.

Studies have shown that inhaling cigarette smoke can cause genetic mutations that can lead to cancers, and children are especially vulnerable to the effects of smoking. It is also a well established medical fact that women who smoke and drink during pregnancies have very high chance of giving birth to kids with birth-defects. Now may I ask, “What kind of a man or a woman would curse their own child to live a life full of suffering just because the parents were worse than kids?” Perhaps everybody does not deserve kids!

It is also a well known fact in medical science that smoking causes mutations in the person who smokes cigarettes. Now I would like to extend that study, without the requisite support of research though, and make a statement: “If smoking can cause mutations in human body, then it can very well cause mutation in germ cells found in gonads (Ovaries and testicles) that produce ova and sperms (female and male gametes in humans). And if this is true, then such mutations can be inherited by posterity, and can develop into defects, be it birth defects like hole in heart or cleft lip etc, or be it later life diseases like Alzheimer etc.”

Such defects may appear in the smoker’s immediate kids, or even in grand-kids, depending upon whether the individual inherited a dominant allele for a fit body from the other parent, or a recessive allele that will be overshadowed in effect by the mutated allele. Perhaps that is why there are more instances of genetic disorders like lactose intolerance etc among kids in western cultures where even women have been heavy drinkers and smokers since a long time ago. Compared to it, in eastern cultures, including Indian and other Asian nations, women generally don’t smoke or drink, and smoking and drinking by men is considered a social evil too. Hence one if more likely to find kids suffering from pathogenic diseases like polio in these nations, due to poor hygiene, than genetic defects.

If such a study is not available then perhaps it has not been conducted, or the strong tobacco lobby has nipped such studies in bud. But the question is not about what anyone else has done. Question is, “What you can do?” I can write and talk, and that’s exactly what I am doing. You can quit!

So what would you like your child to grow up to be?

Pamphlets for distribution to volunteers and small biz owners

*************

Peace Makers Global

Peace Makers Global:
“Peace Makers Global” is best summed up as “Ordinary People’s Corporate Giant”. A community organization that will take up issues and problems affecting global communities at their local levels, it will have chapters in all the major cities in the world, like “Peace Makers Adelaide”, “Peace Makers New Delhi”, “Peace Makers Los Angeles” etc. These chapters will administer global divisions like “Smabiz”, “Legaid” and “WomInD” etc on one hand, and local divisions like “Somkidz” in Somalia etc.

Initial work:
“Peace Makers Global” will begin work on “Smabiz” first, for not only is it the most important task that stares our communities globally, in light of the struggling global economy and crushing times for small business owners, but it will also help “Peace Makers Global” become self sufficient with its’ funding requirements.

What is PMG Smabiz and what are its’ benefits:
“PMG Smabiz” is like a club of small business owners, but the one that will work like a “Multinational Corporate Giant”. It is that decisive edge that small owners need in their fight against huge multinational companies that are driving them out of the market globally, thus not only decreasing the number of opportunities available to the majority of the population, but also hoarding the entire world economy’s money in the accounts of a few companies, thus depriving the economy of much of free cash flow. This is the root cause of current global economic mess, and this mess will go unabated and things will get worse if PMG will not take the battle to the next level. The only thing that stands between the degradation of majority of world populace to the levels of underpaid employees with little means to independence is “Peace Makers Global”. PMG is the next level of evolution of “Corporation” and “Democracy”, bringing the financial power back in the hands of ordinary people. There are many benefits of having such an organization:
a.     PMG Smabiz will help small business compete with big companies price for price, by cutting their shelf costs, thanks to group orders (managed at national level, but competing at international level as explained below) and combined transportation costs etc.
b.    PMG Smabiz will help advertise small business in the way of group advertisements on TV, radio, newspapers etc, thus promoting every small business that will be a member of the PMG club.
c.     Since PMG Smabiz will be a community project, it will not be a franchise scheme but rather a club. Thus small business owners will retain both their identity, as well as their profits. Yes, there will be nominal annual fees after initial one free year, as that will help run PMG.
d.    When small business like grocery stores, restaurants, coffee kiosks, fruit and veg shops, bakeries, gas stations, delis, etc will succeed, ordinary people will have a lot more opportunities available to them, to be independent owners. After all, doesn’t matter whether you work as an employee, say in a supermarket, or you have a small business, say a grocery store, you still need to do the same stocking, storing, shelving and tilling work, and get paid peanuts, the difference being of being an employee, or an independent owner. Yes, there will be jobs available for juniors and other staff in small businesses too, like they have always been.
e.     The entire economies money will be spread out into different accounts, rather than the same handful of accounts, like say, Walmart, Coles, Woolworths, McDonalds, Burger Kings, Ikea, etc.
f.      Thanks to “PMG Smabiz” people will get same and competitive pricing throughout their local markets, thus cutting their travelling costs, as well as helping them save money.
g.     “PMG Smabiz” and other divisions once fully setup, will be a source of employment to youth in various capacities, and provide global opportunities.

Reasons for starting this project at a global level:
a.     I expect big corporations to play dirty with pricing war. Having a huge numbers of small businesses breathing down their necks everywhere will make sure they are not able to stifle the movement at individual levels by running their joints in loss at one location but making up in profits at another. There are some other tricks that will be employed subsequently to counter their other underhand tricks.
b.    We are all in this world together, be it black, yellow, brown or white, or any religion. We are being cheated out of our business opportunities shamelessly while our political representatives turn a blind eye towards big business. Either we step up our game now, or our very near future will see us all reduced to the levels of slaves with rights to vote and freedom to chose which employer to work for. Just think of it, all those who work in private sector, their salaries haven’t increased in the last five years, but have the living expenses remained the same? And even those whose salaries have increased, have they increased comparative to the inflation? Where is all that extra money going, into which accounts? “PMG Smabiz” will get that money into the accounts of ordinary people, thus spreading it deeper into the economy. This will not only stabilize the faltering economy, but will also strengthen it.
c.     As a part of PMG self reliance, business units will be set up for manufacturing household goods. Subsequently 90% of the share in these units will be sold to local businessmen, thus creating job opportunities for local labour in addition to the business opportunity itself. The 10% share retained by PMG will finance PMG, thus creating more job avenues in PMG itself, and also, will negate the need for donations etc.
d.    A nation’s youth are its’ future. PMG will help build every nation’s future that will serve those nations for decades to come, and in the best interest of the Global community.

Zombie Apocalypse

*************

Zombie Apocalypse

“Insanity is not a condition but a classification of the state of a mind, by other minds. Roles are reversible.”

Insanity, in its’ most basic explanation, is nothing but a set of actions not in conformity with the universally accepted code of conduct, and inexplicable on the basis of motive. So it is possible, in an unforeseeable future, if the majority of population starts behaving in a fashion considered insane today, a refined gentleman from today’s world will be considered insane by that future. But, how does this link with a zombie apocalypse? And, is zombie apocalypse actually possible?

The answer to the first one is; today we have a sect of people that fears zombie apocalypse and is preparing for it, a la cult. Tomorrow, if zombie apocalypse happens, possibly the zombies will be scared of human apocalypse, and might start preparing for it. I know it makes no sense, but then, I am not writing a scientific research paper here, even though I will prove this point too.

So, to continue with the insane topic of this write-up, let us delve on the next question; “Is zombie apocalypse actually possible?”

A simple and scary answer is, yes!

Let us just analyse the scientific possibility behind such a catastrophe. Human body is a very detailed and efficient machine, effectively controlled by a small unit inside it; the brain. Brain is assisted in much of its’ functioning by two glands that lie just next and under it, the hypothalamus and the pituitary. While memories are stored inside the brain in the form of chemical compounds, senses and feelings are recorded using peripheral nervous system, and analysed by central nervous system consisting of brain and spinal cord. Much of bodily functions like breathing, blood circulation, body temperature, digestion, defence against pathogens etc, are all subconscious controlled and mechanical. On the other hand, the entire spectrum of intentional activity like walking, handling of objects, learning etc, are all conscious efforts.

The moment a person is born, everything in this world and space that a child comes in contact with, forms a learning which is stored in the brain as a memory. However certain actions are not acquired learning, but human body is inherently accustomed to accomplish such tasks as those that satisfy the three basic instincts of hunger, safety and sex. All other learning is stored in human brain in the form of memories, the chemical compounds referred to above. These are accessed again and again as and when the need arises. Now the question is; what will happen if all this learning is wiped off the brain in a flash? And above all, is this possible?

The only way such a thing is possible is if the chemical compounds stored in the brain are destroyed completely and permanently, either by the action of a chemical, or by a biological agent. The immediate result will be a human being devoid of all learning, fully grown, and with basic needs of food, water and safety an immediate issue. Everything around him will be unknown and new, hence either a threat or a source of food. Such a human being will have no moral inhibitions that themselves are stored in the form of memories inside the brain, and will have no refinement in actions, for all the ways of carrying oneself in society are a learning stored as memories. Such a human being will act like an animal, an animal that cannot speak or understand, but who only wants to eat and defend himself. He will not understand what sexual urge is, but sure will feel it. And there you have your zombie.

But such an individual, if controlled immediately, can be retrained and re-acclimatised to the society, if there is no reason for new learning to be not stored in the brain. But this will happen only if the initial loss was due to a chemical agent that has been removed from the system, either by the body itself, or by an external means. But what if the cause that led to destruction of memory was a biological agent? What if that biological agent can spread like common cold and flu, through spores? Such an agent will not only destroy the initial memory in an individual, but will also inhibit and destroy any future learning too. It may also spread to other individuals through various means of dispersal like air, water and touch, thus resulting in an epidemic.

There will be humans on the streets looking to kill anyone for food, sex and safety. They will know no fear, feelings or morals. They will lose their knowledge about how to walk, but might be able to regain balance on their feet after crawling initially in search of food as maintaining balance on feet is a subconscious balancing thing, and so is running, raising and swinging arms wildly in defence and offence, etc. These individuals will kill humans for food over other animals due to human skin being softer and cleaner, for they won’t know and will never be able to learn how to shear a meat before eating, or which parts of meat to eat. They will eat human beings rather than feeding upon each other, for humans beings will be cleaner and non smelly compared to their own injured, dirty and rotting selves. These individuals will kill humans for their own safety as otherwise the humans beings will be gunning for them. Such an infected population will be a zombie population. And this will be the zombie apocalypse!

So what can actually cause a zombie apocalypse?

A chemical can be used to cause a temporary and localized outbreak in an area as a part of a military or terrorist action, but a large scale event can only transpire if a biological agent like a bacteria or a fungi is involved; something that can reproduce and spread from one individual to another, thus infecting vast stretches of populations. I have not referred to viruses here as the type of zombie condition mentioned here will be caused by destruction of chemicals stored in brain, something that can only be accomplished by a type of organism which either feeds on those chemicals, or secretes chemicals that react with such memory chemicals to destroy them or their activity strength. Viruses on the other hand have a different modus operandi as they infect living cells only to reproduce themselves using the cellular machinery and then get dispersed. Viruses don’t feed on the cells’ contents including chemicals.

The mutation needed to convert a free living biological entity into something that can cause such a catastrophe may not be a distinct possibility today, but cannot be ruled out completely either, given the amount of radio, radiation, chemical and other types of industrial, domestic and agricultural pollution humanity is generating. But chances of a rouge scientist or a rogue nation committing such hara-kiri are fairly bright as well. So discretion is needed, prevention is advised, preparation is your call!

Dhol Sounds - How to play Dhol

*************

Dhol Sounds

“Bhangra is to music what spices are to food: It creates flavor.”

This quick write-up will help musicians globally in incorporating the great “Bhangra” sound to their music. This write up is based on what I have learnt after watching videos by youtube user “Howtoplaydhol” whose website and videos are a good source to learn dhol, and will be referenced here.

ð Basic Dhol sounds:
The two sticks used to produce sound with a Dhol, namely Dagga (Bass stick) and Tilla (Treble stick) produce their own distinct sounds, as well as a couple of combination sounds. Here’s the list:
a)    Dagga Sounds: (All eighth notes)
1.    Ge (Main bass sound)
2.    Gir (Muted bass sound) [The name Gir may not be technically correct, but if you watch the videos on the same you will know]
3.    Click Sound (Produced by hitting the drum with the bass stick, either at the edge of the bass end, or anywhere along the length of the drum, i.e. not on the skin)
b)   Tilla Sounds: (All eighth notes)
1.    Na (Treble sound produced by hitting the outer portion of the treble skin) Na-Na is the sixteenth note combination.
2.    Ghir-Ghira or Ghira (Treble sound produced by hitting the middle portion of the treble skin, while you use your fingers to press the middle part of the stick to the skin, thus giving a double sound)
c)    Combination sounds: (All eighth notes)
1.    Dha (When you make Ge and Na sounds together, i.e. at the same time)
2.    Kin (When you make Ghir and Na sounds together, i.e. at the same time)

ð Basic Dhol rhythm:
The basic dhol rhythm that you will hear in Bhangra songs, much like the 4/4 beat of house music, is called “Chaal”. The basic “Chaal” notes pattern is:

Dha Na Na Na Na Dha Dha Dha Na (Eighth notes)

This pattern is repeated over and over, and variations can be used.

ð Other Dhol rhythms:
In addition to Chaal, there are some other rhythm patters that can be used:
1.    Dhamal
2.    Gidha or Lehriya
3.    Bhangra
4.    Mummy-Daddy (According to “Howtoplaydhol” this should be the first one to be mastered as it helps develop hand co-ordination)
5.    Jhummer
6.    Haripa
7.    Laggi (Continuous playing of a pattern of strokes)
8.    Sami
The patterns and variations for these can be had from “Howtoplaydhol” videos, and via his website mailing list. I am not promoting him, but it’s my gratitude to the efforts of this guy for making Dhol so simple.

ð Dhol fills:
Three kinds of Dhol fills are used to introduce Dhol rhythm, to break up the monotony of the Dhol rhythm, and to close the rhythm. Which one you choose will depend upon the song you are playing to, that is, your expertise with the rhythms. The fills are of three types:
1.    Breaks and Thoras (e.g. Na Rest Dha Na Dha Na Dha Rest)
2.    Rolls (e.g. Ge Na Ge Na Ge Na Na)
3.    Tirkit (which is, in sixteenth notes, Na Na Ge Na, but is played with Take, which is, again in sixteenth notes, Na Ge. An example of the pattern would be Dha Dha Tirkit Dha Take Tirkit)
Once again, variations can be created.

ð How to create variations:
Generally variations are created by replacing Dha at the beginning of a loop with a Na or Kin when the loop is repeated, or replacing Na with Dha towards the end of the loop, in alternate fashion, if it connects well with another Dha at the beginning of the repeat, or with another Dha in the original loop. However, if it sounds musically good, any sound can replace any other sound anywhere, as long as the pattern is going to be repeated as a rhythm, or is a Dhol fill.

This is a very basic article which I have written to simplify “Dhol”. The best suggestion I can give is to go and watch “Howtoplaydhol” videos, and possibly subscribe to his website newsletter.

"Peace Makers Global" Pamphlets for distribution in January 2013

*************

Peace Makers Global

Hi everyone,

I would like to introduce a soon to be global phenomenon that I am lucky to lay the foundation stone of right here in Adelaide, the “Peace Makers Global”.

This organization will work with global communities on a lot of common issues, and also locality specific issues. It will have chapters all over the world, for example, “Peace Makers New Delhi”, “Peace Makers New York”, “Peace Makers Patiala”, “Peace Makers Manilla” etc. The organization’s chapters will begin on a voluntary basis, but once the funding is streamlined, proper offices will be set up and staff hired for various works. The organization will work with underprivileged sections of developing and under-developed societies on one hand, and help developed societies deal with issues affecting their societies on the other.

As a start, I am establishing “Peace Makers Adelaide” and the first activity I intend to take is “Legal Education and Aid” for weaker sections of the society. Once the Adelaide Chapter gets off the block, similar chapters will be established in other major Aussie cities, and subsequently globally. The work that I intend to start with will involve following:
1.    People from weak economic backgrounds with no resources to hire legal representatives in courts will not only be given legal guidance, but also basic education in law in short and crisp weekend lectures, and will also be given topic specific education related to their matter of interest.
2.    People will be provided with a legal assistant when they will represent themselves in court to seek justice or defend innocence.
3.    I intend to co-ordinate with universities across Australia that provide correspondence courses in law, to develop basic curriculum for these classes.
4.    Guest lecturers will be invited on voluntary basis, and subsequently hired once the organization is set up on firmer grounds.
5.    To help victims of injustice cope with depression, social activities will be organised on weekends, to promote socializing and help make the people feel a part of a group.
The following website name has already been registered, and as soon as I get help, it will be up and running too: www.PeaceMakersGlobal.com

“Always Shine Australia Party”

If I was to name just one Aussie who’s inspired me the most, I will have no hesitation in naming “Father of Federation Sir Henry Parkes”. His foresight and efforts that ultimately gave birth to “Australia” have inspired me to be the first person to propose a federation of the world. “Global Citizenship” is something I want to leave behind as our generation’s legacy to this world. Not a one man’s job indeed!

“Always Shine Australia Party” was established on principles of “Equalism” which will promote an equal yet a dynamic society with huge scope for individual growth. I want the Aussies to take care of it while I will take care of “Vijayi Veer Vishesh India Party”. I want people all over the world to set up similar parties, so that we all can work together, not only to make our own motherlands even more wonderful, but also prepare them for subsequent “Global Federation”. The current systems of “Communism” as well as “Capitalism” are both anti-social systems, contrary to the interest of the majority population. “Equalism” is the common ground between the two, and has been specifically designed keeping the future in mind. More details have been shared via various write-ups I’ve written that are available via the Politics page of my artist website: www.fatalurgecarefreekiss.com

Honestly, we all have at some stage judged a man and his genius by the colour of his skin, the locket hanging by his neck, or the sex of their partner (I was guilty of this vice until I realized through personal experience how important equality is, and why it is important to discourage discrimination). But have we ourselves done or achieved anything for our societies? Neither is a genius restricted to one demographic, nor does a genius’ work benefits only one section. I may or may not be a genius, but my work will benefit everyone, be it brown, black, yellow or white, be it straight or gay, or be it a Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Sikh or Buddhist. More details are available in a letter I’ve written to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of South Australia, also available via the politics page of my artist website above.

An important case I am fighting

I am contesting a very trifling matter of parking on yellow line (Singh Vs Holdfast Bay City Council). The appeal is listed to be heard by the Supreme Court on 17th January, 2013 in the Chief Justice’s court. The matter was petty but the issue has become really significant for what I am trying to achieve through it. I am trying to make justice more readily available to weaker sections of the society, and if the court sees my logic I will succeed in doing so.

Many people don’t defend their innocence and accept guilt even when they are not, because of lack of funds to hire a lawyer, and if they represent themselves and fail, they will have to pay court costs to the other party. In my case, a lawyer refused to represent me unless I gave $3000 in advance, and on self representation I ended up making $80 into nearly $3000. For a hard-working man like me $3000 was never more than a month and a half’s saving, but does this mean a poor man should not defend his innocence but rather accept a crime he didn’t commit? Should he be forced to live forever with an injustice, just because he cannot buy justice? We are not living in Medieval Times. This is Democracy where everyone is equal and has an equal right to justice.

Legal costs are not the same as exemplary damages, which are a punishment for a crime. Legal costs have rather become a punishment for seeking justice. What I am doing now, the lawyer community should have done it a long time ago.

You may wish to support me or not, but my work is too important to be left unfinished. I will continue alone if I have to. But as I said, it is not a one man’s job. So let us start the future of the world “Peace Makers”. Call me, “Aman Rai”, on +61 43 023 5589.

Guns for revolutions

*************

Guns For Revolutions

“It is not the bullet but the intention that kills.”

Humanity has a habit of slacking long time after achieving short gains. Humanity suffered attrition and turmoil to bring about the pleasant change in the form of democracy. The power that was enjoyed by a ruling class, finally ended up in the hand of masses. The ordinary people, whose only option was to work as peasants on big farms of landlords, or daily wagers for big businessmen, noblemen and kings, or do petty businesses like being cobblers or smiths, were finally free to enjoy the boon of opportunity available freely. An ordinary man, who could in an earlier time, only dream, could actually make a small start and then build up on it through his own hard labor, to reach dizzy heights of success. United States of America, India, and many other democracies around the globe were built by young enterprising individuals. But how does the time change!

The number of times I’ve heard during this US election, that America has been built by workers, I wonder if America is a Socialist country that has been built by workers. Am I wrong? Wasn’t it the USSR? Isn’t it China? Well, I may be wrong, for I don’t live in US! But anyway, this article isn’t about communism or capitalism. This article has emerged out of the current situation that is unfolding in the US. The number of public shootings that have taken countless innocent lives in US this year; are turning out to be some sort of a record of numbers now. But what is happening there, and why?

For a man who firmly believes that a particular US Politico-Business lobby created the 911 by using resources made available by friends in crime, just to hard sell a war to public, that was to be waged on tax-payers money to benefit the tax-evaders, I smell a rat. What worries me is the cumulative effect these shootings are going to have on the public perception about guns, and how will that reflect in changes in legislation. But why am I so concerned about the legislation?

Given the fact that US already has an unconstitutional act (what I am saying here, if there was one single intelligent/honest lawyer in US, he/she would have done that in a US court) in the form of the Patriot act, which enables the government to arrest and detain any person without evidence or legal remedy, these developments are even more concerning. To explain the real meaning of the act first, let me just say; had I been living in US, that act would have been used a long time back to silence me, simply because I am exposing the lies politicians are telling you, and my truth hurts their and their associates’ business interests. And I will have no savior from this act, and why, just because I have a different democratic belief, or just because I want a better world for ordinary people, which will be against the business interests of the powerful lobbies that buy and raise politicians. What a shameful statement it is about the second largest democracy in the world!

But then that is exactly why this act is unconstitutional. If an innocent man is held under this act, there is no way for him to get justice, leave alone prove his innocence. The fundamental principles of democratic law are; “You are innocent unless until proved otherwise”, “Even if a hundred criminals escape, not even a single innocent should get punished”, and, “In cases where you are guilty unless you prove your innocence, you deserve a fair chance to prove your innocence”. But this act is contrary to all those principles, all of which are enshrined in constitutions in the form of fundamental right. Under this act, howsoever long an innocent person is detained; he neither has a chance to prove his innocence, not is there a legal remedy available to give him justice for the wrong committed to him. And even if there were to be a remedy in the form of exemplary costs, the time spent in detention for no fault of his will never return, even if that happens to be years, for there is no time limit to the detention as well. This is against the very fundamentals of democracy and defeats the purpose why our ancestors shed their blood to get it in first place. The US Constitution has been publically humiliated and killed by its’ own government! What a shame!

But let me address the current topic; guns. The number of shootings happening in US right now, they represent the deteriorating state of mental well being in US, and the reason is not one. The economic factors can drive an adult crazy, emotional reasons can do the same to both young and adult, but why so many disillusioned youth? There is over-aggression, sexism, infidelity and immorality in the content being aired on television and radio, in movies and songs, and sexist violent video games. The last two generations of Americans have grown up on a violent culture. The first signs of mental stress, and the moment they break the result is chaos and destruction. But will a legislative ban on gun ownership be the answer?

Look at all the revolutionary movements happening as a part of “Arab Spring”, which I would rather term as “Muslim Renaissance”. The people of Arab world are not lucky enough to have access to guns, so majority of them have been forced to take the bullet without firing back, as is the case in Syria, or previously in Egypt. What if the Americans realize tomorrow that their politicians and businessmen have betrayed them? Are they strong enough to take bullets on their chest without an access to guns? I am a Sikh! My ninth Guru sat on burning plate, his followers were boiled in “Deg” (holy dish), some were split open with rotating toothed wheels, some were cut down piece by piece, the tenth Sikh Guru’s seven and nine year old sons were bricked alive. I can take a bullet to my head but not yield on my principles, and still not resort to violence. Are Americans like me? If not, then you need guns!

So what is the best solution to the current problem? A very simple answer that solves all the issues is derived from a simple fact, “A gun is as good as its’ ammunition”.

Americans have a constitutional right to keep guns, so be it. Allow every American to buy as many guns as he or she wants to, just limit the amount of ammunition to ten rounds per person. This ammunition should only be replenished once empty cartridges of previous ammunition have been handed back, and all the ammunition used had been accounted for its’ use, and attested by a respectable person. A person with ten high caliber guns thus will only have ten possible shots. You haven’t curbed his right to have guns, but you have restricted his abilities to below the levels required for such shootings. If a person was to go on a public rampage, he will be aware he can only use nine rounds for he will need one for self. In case a couple misfire, he will be down to seven, and if a couple miss the target, he will be down to five. And every shot does not necessarily take life.

Those who need guns for self defense, ten shots are more than a plenty. If they need any more protection, they don’t need more ammunition, rather a professional security company to take care of their needs. Those who like guns as a sport, they should only be allowed to use guns provided by and at the shooting ranges. And hunting should be banned anyway! What are we living in, dark ages?

Dwell a little more on my suggestion, and you will find it answers all the questions posed by those against the gun ban, and also gives a fighting chance to the public, in case their politicians will fail them once and for all.

Now before I close this article, a few things about “Muslim Renaissance” I referred to above. Europe had its’ renaissance first, and wherever the Europeans went, they took their new learning with them. As a result, nations like India, Philippines etc, all benefited. But the Arab world was left untouched by the European Renaissance because of the religious differences. European learning was underrated as a Christian phenomenon and hence, Muslim world remained elusive. What is happening in Arab nations now is that the people are finally awakening to the light of democracy, albeit a few centuries late, but they are. Their suffering hasn’t left me untouched, and I hate the thought of so many innocents getting killed, but I still don’t want the outside forces to interfere, simply because it will deny them their renaissance, and weaken their societies.

Their suffering, if it moves you and me, it sure will move the remainder of their brothers and sisters to wake up and side with them. Their final victory will be complete, and the realization of all that will be lost will enhance the value of their new found freedom and democracy. Their hardships and sufferings will motivate them to strengthen their society so much that such things won’t happen again.
